Coming in the 2025-26 school year, Bryan City Schools will be using ParentSquare for all school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. We have several groups within the school who have tested this platform, and now are piloting it with the entire district.
ParentSquare will replace all communication tools currently being used, and will be the single place for all school communication starting next school year. This includes school delays and cancellations, classroom communication, athletics, and more.
We will continue to use SchoolMessenger for attendance and alerts through the end of this school year and then all staff will transition to using ParentSquare for the 2025-26 school year. From now until the end of this school year, you may receive duplicate messages from both systems.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their information that is currently in PowerSchool. We encourage parents to download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Students at Bryan MS/HS can use the StudentSquare app as well to connect with coaches and teachers.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification;
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm;
Communicate in your preferred language - all translations happen automatically;
Direct message teachers and staff;
Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more.
All current parent/guardian contacts should have received a ParentSquare invitation in their email. Please review the information to set up your account. If you didn't get an email, or need to correct your email address, please reach out to your building office.
Please make sure you set your language and notification preferences once you sign in to your account. There are links below to help you with these settings. By default, you will receive a digest email of all notifications daily at 6pm. It is recommended that you keep this setting to avoid being overwhelmed by notifications throughout the day. All school delays and cancellations and other urgent messages, along with all direct messages, will be sent immediately, even if you have notifications set to digest.
BCS has created a Community Group in ParentSquare called School Delays & Cancellations for Community Members. This group is for community members who are not students, parents of students, or staff members. People who needed to be notified about school delays and cancellations, such as babysitters, Lifewise bus drivers, substitute teachers, grandparents, etc. can join this group to receive these announcements from BCS.
Current students, parents and staff members should not join this group, as they will already receive this information.
